In late November 2020,Henan Ocean Chemical recently received good news from the drilling operation site of East China Petroleum Engineering Company.The temperature resistant cationic polymer coating agent independently developed by Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Research Institute Co.,Ltd.has completed the on-site application test of the first well in Yong54 well,and the application effect is good.
The Jiangsu oil area constructed by East China Petroleum Engineering Company is located in a water network area,with strong water sensitivity and easy hydration and dispersion of shale formations.During the construction process,it is extremely easy to encounter problems such as wellbore collapse and block falling,drill bit mud entrapment,and high solid phase rise.
In response to the above issues,the Nanhua Research Institute has developed a temperature resistant cationic polymer coating agent.This coating agent has the advantages of moderate relative molecular weight,good water solubility,excellent coating inhibition performance,and good temperature resistance.It can solve problems such as wellbore collapse and block falling caused by strong water sensitivity of mudstone,and drill bit mud package.In order to further accelerate the promotion and application of temperature resistant cationic polymer coating agents,the Research Institute of Nanhua and East China Petroleum Engineering Company have cooperated to undertake the Sinopec scientific research project"Application Test of Temperature Resistant Cationic Polymer Coating Agents".Currently,the project has entered the on-site application test stage.
East China Petroleum Engineering Company conducted application tests on temperature resistant cationic polymer coating agents in Well Yong 54.The mudstones of the Sanduo Formation and Dainan Formation in Yong'an Block have strong water sensitivity and are prone to slurry dispersion,which can easily lead to complex situations such as water dissolution and shrinkage during construction.After using this coating agent,the performance of the drilling fluid is stable in the sections that are prone to mud making and collapse,and the rock cuttings returned by the vibrating screen have better formability compared to adjacent wells.The inhibitory effect of the drilling fluid is stronger,which can effectively suppress the formation mud making and avoid the occurrence of shrinkage phenomenon.
