Polyanionic cellulose(PAC)is an anionic cellulose ether with high degree of polymerization,high degree of substitution,and uniform distribution of substituent groups.It is a white to light yellow powder or particle,odorless and non-toxic,with strong hygroscopicity.It is easily soluble in cold and hot water.Has the same molecular structure as carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC).
Due to the uniform degree of substitution,polyanionic cellulose has better thickening,suspension,dispersion,emulsification,bonding,salt resistance,water retention,and protective properties than carboxymethyl cellulose sodium.
Main features
①Good thermal stability.
②Acid,alkali,and salt resistance.The pH value is stable within the range of 3-11 and can be applied to various polar harsh environments;
③Good solubility.It is soluble with other cellulose ethers,water-soluble adhesives,softeners,resins,etc;
④Good solubility.Simple stirring equipment can quickly dissolve in cold and hot water,and the dissolution rate of hot water is faster.Instant PAC can be fully dissolved in a few minutes,greatly improving the convenience of use and production efficiency;
⑤Good stability.PAC aqueous solution has photostability,longer shelf life,strong resistance to bacterial and mold growth,and no fermentation;
⑥Extremely low usage.Due to the high degree of substitution and stability of PAC itself,its dosage is only equivalent to 30%~60%of carboxymethyl cellulose in the same usage environment,which to some extent reduces the cost of use and has a high cost-effectiveness advantage,as well as high economic and social benefits.
Product application
In drilling fluids,it has better viscosity increasing,filtration reducing,anti collapse,salt resistance,and temperature resistance than CMC,and is suitable for freshwater,saline,saturated saline,and seawater drilling fluid systems.When different amounts of CMC and PAC are added to 6%fresh water,4%saline water,and saturated saline slurry containing bentonite,and the PAC dosage is only half of the CMC dosage,the same viscosity improvement and filtration loss reduction effects can be achieved in fresh water drilling fluid.The viscosity improvement and filtration loss reduction effects are better in 4%saline drilling fluid and saturated saline drilling fluid,indicating that PAC has better salt pollution resistance than CMC.Particle size analysis shows that PAC is far superior to CMC in inhibiting clay hydration dispersion and controlling particle size changes.
